Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand admits that he can't wait for the new season to start after his experience playing at the Olympics.

Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand has admitted that he cannot wait for the new season to start after his experience playing at the Olympics.

Bertrand was part of the Team GB squad that reached the quarter-finals, and despite needing to return to Chelsea straight after the team's exit, he has revealed that he is pleased to be back at the club.

Bertrand told the club's official website: "It's been a very good summer. Playing in the Olympics was an amazing experience and I'm now looking forward to the new season.

"It's nice to be back and training was good. You can see the boys have been working hard on the tour, so things are looking bright for the start of the new season.

"I managed to play all the games for Team GB bar one so that was good fitness-wise and I'm raring to go."

The 23-year started for Chelsea in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
