Papiss Cisse: Tiredness was reason for strike

Newcastle United forward Papiss Cisse admits that he was tired as he scored his spectacular long-range goal against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has claimed that tiredness was behind his second goal against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

Cisse scored a brace in the 2-0 victory and admitted that he hit his second goal from long range as he was tired in the closing stages of the match.

Cisse explained to Sky Sports News through teammate Demba Ba: "I am very happy to have scored 13 so far and as every striker I just want to score goals.

"The second goal, I just saw the ball coming back from Shola [Ameobi] and he just wanted to shoot as he had no power, so he just shot.

"The goal came at the right moment as they were putting on a lot of pressure and it was a relief for the whole team."

Newcastle United are currently fifth in the Premier League.
