Olivier Giroud: 'I am adapting well at Chelsea'

Olivier Giroud believes that he is adapting well to life at Chelsea and is building up a good understanding with the club's other attackers.

Olivier Giroud has claimed that he is adapting well to life at Chelsea and is building up a good understanding with the club's other attackers.

The Blues, fifth in the Premier League table, ran out 2-1 winners over Crystal Palace on Saturday to narrow the gap between themselves and the top four to two points.

Giroud's link-up play enabled both Willian, scorer of the opening goal, and Eden Hazard to get on the ball and cause the visitors problems, and the Frenchman was pleased with the way the trio combined.

"I think I'm adapting well, I try to have a good understanding on the pitch with the number 10s like Eden and Willian," Giroud, who joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January, told the official Blues site.

"We did some great movements. We could, and should, have scored more goals but as long as you are getting chances to score it means you are creating spaces so that's good. Now we need more efficiency and a bit of luck."

Chelsea, whose next two fixtures are against Barcelona in the Champions League and Leicester City in the FA Cup, are not involved in Premier League action again until April 1 when they host Tottenham Hotspur.
