Frank Lampard has admitted that he considered leaving Chelsea to play his football abroad a few years ago.
The England midfielder has just 12 months left on his current Stamford Bridge contract and has been linked with moves to Spain, China and the USA.
While he contemplated leaving the Blues several years ago, Lampard has insisted he has no intentions of doing so now and wants to extend his Chelsea career as long as he can.
"I considered playing abroad three or four years ago, that's true. But I decided to be here at Chelsea for the long haul," he told the Sunday Mirror.
"I look at people like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs at Manchester United and see what they are still doing and I would love to do the same for Chelsea. I want to emulate them."
Lampard has revealed that he wants to sign a new deal with the Champions League finalists.
