Frank Leboeuf hits out at "lack of respect" from Chelsea players

Club legend Frank Leboeuf claims that Chelsea's players are trying to get Antonio Conte removed from his position as head coach.

Club legend Frank Leboeuf has suggested that some members of the Chelsea squad are trying to get Antonio Conte sacked.

Throughout this season, Conte's long-term future at Stamford Bridge has been in doubt and the Blues are currently on course to miss out on qualification for the Champions League.

Leboeuf has claimed that everyone associated with the club is being shown "a lack of respect" by the players, saying that most seasons after a title win end up in "a mess".

The 50-year-old told SFR Sport: "It's a lack of respect for the fans and the club, both on the manager's part, because he's already packed his bags, but also from the players.

"We saw it with [Jose] Mourinho, it seemed like some of the players were almost losing on purpose so the manager can get sacked as quickly as possible.

"I knew a team that was hungry for trophies, wanted to win. Now, it doesn't seem that way. One year you win the league, the next it's a mess."

Chelsea can still win the FA Cup this season, but currently sit eight points adrift of a top-four place in the Premier League table.
