Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has claimed West Ham United played "football from the 19th century" in tonight's goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.
Sam Allardyce's struggling side defended doggedly and denied their opponents an eighth consecutive victory.
"To play a football match where only one team wants to play is very difficult," Mourinho told reporters.
"I told Sam and I repeat my words: they need the points and because of that they came here and played the way they did. Is it acceptable? Maybe yes.
"I cannot be too critical because if I was in that position I don't know if I would do the same. I don't want to be too critical, but also this is the Premier League and that was football from the 19th century."
Chelsea currently occupy third place in the Premier League table, three points behind leaders Manchester City.
