Jose Mourinho: 'We have missed John Terry's leadership'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho admits that his side missed the influence of defender John Terry during his time spent on the sidelines through injury.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is delighted to welcome John Terry back to the first-team squad after injury.

Terry has missed Chelsea's last three games, but after being declared fit for the match with Everton, Mourinho is hopeful that his captain's leadership can help his side recover from last week's defeat to Manchester City.

The 51-year-old told reporters: "We have missed his leadership a bit. Many times, we have needed a voice on the pitch.

"Sometimes there are things to control, distances, defensive positions, sometimes I cannot communicate with them so to have someone with this kind of voice that can transmit what I need is also important."

Chelsea will move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table with victory over the Toffees.
