Porto defender confirms Andre Villas-Boas for Chelsea?

Porto's Alvaro Pereira bids farewell to Andre Villas-Boas on his Facebook page.

Porto's Alvaro Pereira has appeared to confirm Andre Villas-Boas's departure from the club to take up a job at Chelsea.

Earlier today it emerged that Blues owner Roman Abramovich was preparing to pay a £13.2 million release clause to bring Villas-Boas back to Stamford Bridge, where he previously worked under Jose Mourinho.

Posting on his Facebook page, Pereira said: "Andre Villas-Boas is going to Chelsea. Abramovich has taken our coach from the [Estadio] do Dragao.

"We have to thank the coach for all the work and the trophies conquered with us this season. We have lost our coach but we will remain strong. WE ARE PORTO!"

It remains unclear whether Villas-Boas will become the new Chelsea manager or serve as sporting director under Guus Hiddink.
