Barcelona are reportedly ahead of Bayern Munich in the race to sign Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen.

Barcelona are allegedly ahead of Bayern Munich in the race to sign Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

The Denmark international's contract with the Blues is due to expire in June, and a recent report claimed that the London club are expecting to lose him on a free transfer.

Barcelona and Bayern have emerged as the two favourites for the defender despite suggestions that a number of other clubs are also showing an interest in his services.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are now at the head of the queue for his signature, with Bayern losing the race to acquire the 25-year-old.

The Dane has made 26 appearances for Chelsea during the 2021-22 season, contributing two goals and registering one assist in the process.

Christensen has recently been unavailable for selection due to a back injury and positive COVID-19 test, but he played the full 90 minutes against Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend.
