Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand won't rule out Aston Villa stay

Ryan Bertrand says that he will not rule out extending his stay at Aston Villa after joining the club this month on loan from Chelsea.

Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand has refused to rule out possibly moving to Aston Villa on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at the Midlands outfit having struggled to cement a regular starting spot under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

Bertrand, who moved to Villa Park earlier this month, has Cesar Azpilicueta and Ashley Cole standing in his way at Chelsea.

According to the Birmingham Mail, when asked if he would consider extending his stay at Villa, Bertrand said: "I'm just here to concentrate on each game as it comes and to get back playing regularly, I'll leave all that stuff until the end of the season.

"You can't rule anything out. It's important, first and foremost, that my performances are good enough. I need to concentrate on each game."

Bertrand has just under two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract with the Blues.
