Valencia defender Jose Gaya has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea.
The Blues are currently serving a two-window transfer ban after breaking rules in relation to signing under-age players, and that suspension will also be in place for the January transfer window.
Frank Lampard's side are said to be making plans for next summer, though, and according to Soccer Link, the Premier League outfit are eyeing a swoop for Gaya.
The 24-year-old, who is a five-time Spain international, has made 197 appearances for Valencia since debuting for the former La Liga champions in 2012.
The defender only signed a new long-term deal with Los Che last summer, and there is believed to be an £89.5m release clause in his contract.
However, the report claims that Chelsea are keen to sign Gaya as a replacement for Marcos Alonso, who has fallen behind Emerson Palmieri in the pecking order at the club.
