Chelsea could reportedly hand a new contract to experienced midfielder Frank Lampard.
The 34-year-old, who joined the club in 2001, has yet to be given a new deal despite his current contract expiring at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports News, Lampard and officials from the Blues are locked in talks over a possible one-year extension to his current deal.
When questioned on the future of Lampard, Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay told reporters: "Discussions are ongoing and must be kept confidential at this stage."
Lampard is on the brink of breaking Bobby Tambling's record of 202 goals for the club.
