Chelsea have reportedly decided to make another approach for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley during the January transfer window.
On deadline day, the Blues allegedly came close to moving to Stamford Bridge before he opted to bide his time as he recovered from a hamstring injury.
However, Everton boss Sam Allardyce has indicated that the 24-year-old - who has just six months remaining on his contract - will be considered for first-team selection in the near future.
According to The Telegraph, that development will lead to Chelsea reigniting their interest in the England international as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his squad at the start of 2018.
While Chelsea sit in third place in the Premier League standings and have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, Conte missed out on a number of targets during the summer and remains keen on improving the numbers in his squad.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be considering a move for Barkley, but the report claims that Mauricio Pochettino would prefer to sign the player on a free transfer at the end of the season.
