Chelsea boss Frank Lampard reportedly recommends that the club end their pursuit of £80m-rated Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who has also been linked with Spurs.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reportedly told the club to end their interest in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

The Blues were thought to be one of a number of teams interested in signing the 27-year-old during the ongoing transfer window, with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Champions League last-16 opponents Bayern Munich also in the running.

However, 90min reports that Lampard does not feel as though Zaha would be the right fit for his Chelsea side and has therefore recommended against bringing the player to Stamford Bridge.

Some members of the club's hierarchy are still understood to view the Ivory Coast international as a potential target, although Palace's £80m asking price is proving to be a sticking point.

Chelsea are in the market for a new winger amid uncertainty over the futures of Willian and Pedro, with Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho also thought to be on their radar.

Speculation over Zaha's future has gathered pace in recent days after he linked up with new agent Pini Zahavi, and the attacker is reportedly desperate to leave Selhurst Park having also failed to force an exit last summer.

However, Palace have no intention of selling their prized asset for anything less than their asking price, particularly considering he still has three years remaining on his contract at the club.
