Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard reveals that he wants to stay at the club beyond his new one-year contract.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that he wants to stay at the club beyond next season.

The 34-year-old was due to be a free agent this summer before signing a one-year extension at Stamford Bridge.

However, the England international is keen to remain with the Blues for the foreseeable future.

"I want it to continue for as long as possible," Lampard told the Evening Standard. "I signed a one-year extension but I'd love to be part of the next few years at Chelsea, developing the young players that we've seen come in this season.

"I'd love to show in the first six months of next season that I can carry on here. It's down to me."

Lampard, who joined Chelsea in 2001, recently became the club's record scorer with 203 goals.
