Report: Chelsea to battle Juventus for Giannelli Imbula

Chelsea and Juventus are preparing to battle for Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, according to reports.

Chelsea and Juventus have entered the race to sign Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, according to reports.

Imbula quickly became a key man for Marseille after joining from Guingamp, and his form was an important reason behind their title bid before Marcelo Bielsa's side recently lost ground at the top of Ligue 1.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are keen to bring the 22-year-old to England after monitoring him during his time at Guingamp, but they are likely to face competition.

The report claims that Juventus are also considering a summer bid, and it is believed that Marseille would be hoping for a fee close to £25m.

Imbula's current deal with the French club expires in 2018.
