Report: Chelsea make £16m Douglas Costa bid

Shakhtar Donetsk forward Douglas Costa is reported to be the subject of a £16m bid from Chelsea.

Chelsea have reportedly launched a £16m bid to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward Douglas Costa.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado in the past 24 hours, although it is claimed by the Daily Mail that they have now turned their attention elsewhere.

Twice-capped Brazil international Costa is said to have been on Chelsea's radar since he was a teenager, when he formed a partnership with current Stamford Bridge favourite Willian during their time together at Shakhtar.

However, any transfer could prove difficult with the Ukrainian outfit notoriously difficult to negotiate with, which means that agreeing a fee could take some time.

Costa, who has previously spent two years playing for Brazilian side Gremio, has featured in all six of his side's Champions League games so far this season.
