Anzhi Makhachkala are reportedly ready to offer Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard lucrative contracts to move to the Russian club.

Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala want to sign Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, according to Metro.

The big-spending club signed Samuel Eto'o from Inter Milan last month and made him the world's richest player.

The signing was funded by Anzhi's billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov, who is willing to offer Gerrard and Lampard two-year contracts worth £13m a season each.

They are keen to add to a squad that includes Roberto Carlos, Diego Tardelli and Yuri Zhirkov.

Whether either Lampard or Gerrard would be keen to relocate to Russia remains to be seen as both are firm fixtures in the first-team plans at Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.

Meanwhile, England manager Fabio Capello has been linked with the managerial position at Anzhi.
