Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua have confirmed their interest in Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, having already secured the signature of his teammate Nicolas Anelka earlier today.
Drogba is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and so far no extension as been agreed.
As a result, Shenhua have revealed that they would like to sign the Ivory Coast international and have admitted that initial discussions have taken place.
"Drogba is an excellent player. We got in touch with him two weeks ago," said club director Zhou Jun.
"From our club's perspective, we have this to say - if he is willing to come, we will definitely welcome him."
Drogba joined the Blues in 2004 from French club Marseille.
