Sheffield Wednesday enter Patrick Bamford race?

Sheffield Wednesday express an interest in signing Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan, according to a report.

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly the latest club to express an interest in Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford.

The 21-year-old striker caught the eye last season after scoring 19 times for Middlesbrough during a loan spell with the Championship side.

Bamford's loan expired at the end of the campaign and he has since been linked with a switch to a Premier League side.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Everton and Southampton are said to be among the sides who are monitoring the England Under-21 international's situation at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Wednesday are also interested in signing Bamford and want to bring him to Hillsborough on loan.

The frontman was voted the Championship's Player of the Year for last season.
