Everton manager Marco Silva confirms that a loan deal to bring Kurt Zouma to the club from Everton is "almost done".

Everton manager Marco Silva has confirmed that a loan deal for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is "almost done".

The Toffees significantly bolstered their squad on transfer deadline day with the arrivals of Bernard, Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina, but their business is not yet done, with a temporary move for Zouma in the pipeline.

Everton filed a deal sheet ahead of Thursday's 5pm deadline, but concerns were raised when no announcement was made this morning despite expectations that the transfer would be completed.

However, Silva has now reassured supporters that the switch is still on and suggested that official confirmation could arrive in the coming hours.

"It's almost done, not official but almost. We'll wait for a few hours and see what we'll do but it's almost done," Silva told reporters.

"I don't want to talk only about him because the market is the market. When you start to bring in some new players you want to strengthen the squad.

"Of course at his moment it looks stronger but we have to work with all of them and gel everything and put them in our way to adapt them as soon as possible."

Should Zouma arrive in time then he could be eligible to make his debut against newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers in Everton's opening game of the new Premier League season on Saturday.
