Tottenham Hotspur ready bid to reunite Andre Villas-Boas with Juan Mata?

Tottenham Hotspur plan a January move for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur could be preparing a bid to reunite boss Andre Villas-Boas with Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, according to a report in the Daily Express.

Villas-Boas was in charge at Stamford Bridge when Mata was signed from Valencia and it is believed that the Portuguese manager would like to bring the creative midfielder to White Hart Lane in January.

However, Serie A sides Juventus and Napoli are also said to be keen on the 25-year-old Spanish international.

Mata has had a peculiar start to the Premier League season despite ending the last campaign in fine form, having been frozen out by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who has criticised the player for not carrying out his plans on the pitch.
