Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has insisted that he will work hard in order to earn a spot in Spain's squad for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
The 30-year-old was left out of Vicente del Bosque's squad for the recent round of friendlies due to inconsistent form at Stamford Bridge.
However, the former Liverpool forward is confident that he can attract the attention of Del Bosque before he names his provisional Spain squad for Brazil.
"The World Cup is just around the corner and those who are in the best form will be the ones to go," Torres told AS. "I will work, which is the only thing I know how to do, and the final part of the season is very important. We are up there in the league, through to the next round of the Champions League and it could be a great end to the season."
Spain will head to South America for the global tournament as defending champions.
