Chievo held by Udinese

Bostjan Cesar scores an own goal as Udinese come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Chievo in Serie A.

Udinese saw their winless run in Serie A stretched to six games despite coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Chievo.

The visitors almost opened the scoring early on when Panagiotis Kone's free kick missed everybody inside the box and had to be tipped over by Albano Bizarri.

However, it was Chievo who took the lead when Riccardo Meggiorini's cross was touched into the far corner by Sergio Pellissier.

Five minutes into the second half, Meggiorini caused the Udinese defence more problems with a strike that was kept out by Orestis Karnezis.

Udinese gradually fought their way back into the match and substitute Antonio Di Natale came within inches of equalising when his volley from just inside the box came back off the post.

They did manage to draw level moments later as Bostjan Cesar turned Cyril Thereau's low cross into his own net.

Deep into stoppage time, Ervin Zukanovic almost won the game for Chievo, but his volley from the edge of the box smashed against the bar as the visitors held on to take a point.
