Chievo beat fellow strugglers Parma

Chievo earn a vital 1-0 victory away to fellow strugglers Parma in Serie A.

Chievo have boosted their chances of survival in Serie A with a 1-0 win at fellow strugglers Parma.

Both sides created chances during the early stages as Parma midfielder Antonio Nocerino was denied by goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri before Ezequiel Schelotto blasted over at the other end.

A key moment in the game arrived on 33 minutes when Daniele Galloppa was sent off for the hosts after picking up his second yellow card inside four minutes.

Chievo struggled to make their numerical advantage count, but they finally took the lead nine minutes after the restart as Ervin Zukanovic curled home a perfectly executed free kick.

The visitors dominated after that as Sergio Pellissier's effort was kept out by Antonio Mirante, while Riccardo Meggiorini rattled the post late on. However, they were unable to add to their tally.
