Coventry City sack manager Andy Thorn after a disappointing start to life in League One for the Sky Blues.

Coventry City have sacked manager Andy Thorn following a disappointing start to the season in League One.

Thorn has been in charge at the Ricoh Arena for 16 months but the Coventry board are believed to have lost patience with the team's performances.

The Sky Blues were relegated from the Championship last season and have drawn their opening three league games of this campaign, despite leading in all of their matches.

Coventry are suffering from severe financial problems and were forced to sell a number of key players in the summer.

Despite adding nine new members to his squad, the former caretaker boss has been relieved of his duties.
