Simeon Jackson came off the substitutes' bench to give Coventry City victory against Yeovil Town to extend the club's unbeaten run to seven games.
After going close through Jordan Clarke and Andy Webster, Reda Johnson then headed the Sky Blues in front after meeting Jim O'Brien's pinpoint ball into the box.
Inside 11 minutes, Coventry could have put daylight between the sides when O'Brien unleashed a thunderous strike, which came back off the woodwork.
Steven Pressley's men continued to push for a second, and recent signing Frank Nouble almost provided it when his shot from a difficult angle flew inches wide.
However, Coventry fans inside the Ricoh Arena were almost stunned when AJ Leitch-Smith reached Kevin Dawson's cross with an overhead kick that rattled the crossbar.
In the early stages of the second half, Yeovil got back on level terms when Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Jack Price found Sam Foley and the winger found the back of the net from a tight angle.
Leitch-Smith then almost forged an unlikely lead for the visitors, but his header was kept out by Ryan Allsop in the City goal.
However, Coventry regained the lead on 68 minutes after Jackson, a half-time substitute for Josh McQuoid, fired a close-range strike into the bottom corner of the Yeovil net.
The result keeps the Sky Blues in the playoff positions.
