Crawley Town defender Mark Connolly says that he is enjoying playing first-team football for the first time in his career.

Crawley Town's Mark Connolly has admitted that he is relishing the opportunity of first-team football at the club.

The former Bolton Wanderers defender earned a place in the League One outfit's starting XI following an injury to Claude Davis.

"That is one of the biggest things for me - regular football," he told Crawley News. "I spoke to the gaffer and I said I just want to nail down a place wherever I'm playing and I'll give you 100%. I've just got to wait for my time.

"When I'm sitting on the bench obviously you're annoyed you aren't playing, but as long as the lads on the pitch are doing their job you're happy.

"I've always been a centre-half since I was at Wolves when I was younger and when I joined Bolton, but as I said to the manager, and as I said to Sean O'Driscoll before him, I'll play where you want me to play."

Crawley are in FA Cup action this weekend when they take on Chelmsford City at home in the second round of the competition.
