Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew confirms that captain Scott Dann will miss this weekend's match against West Ham, but is nearing a return from injury.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has revealed that Scott Dann is close to a return from the hamstring injury that has kept him out of the last two Premier League games.

The Palace skipper will play no part at home to West Ham United on Saturday, but could return in time for the trip to face defending champions Leicester City next weekend.

However, long-time absentees Pape Souare and Loic Remy remain sidelined and are not expected to return for at least another month.

"Scott Dann won't make this game, but he is training. So he should be available for the next one, we think. Other than that we're okay," Pardew told the club's official website.

"[Souare] is on a long recovery time. He's just in that process really. We still think the November, December period - the back end of November we should see [Remy] and he's progressing well."

Palace are unbeaten in their last five Premier League outings having lost their opening two games of the season.
