Tony Pulis leaves Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis resigns from his post just two days before the new Premier League season kicks off.

Tony Pulis has quit his post at Crystal Palace just two days before the start of the new Premier League season.

Earlier today it was reported that Pulis and co-chairman Steve Parish had clashed during a crisis meeting over the club's transfer targets.

It is understood that the 56-year-old, who won Manger of the Year last season, had grown frustrated after missing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson and Steven Caulker and has now left Selhurst Park by mutual consent.

Pulis was due to lead Palace into their opening game of the 2014-15 campaign against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, but Keith Millen is now poised to take charge of the clash.

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon and ex-Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay are reportedly frontrunners to land the job on a long-term basis.

The former Stoke City coach took charge of Palace back in November and subsequently won 11 of his 24 Premier League games in charge en route to preserving the Eagles' top-flight status against the odds.
