Barry Bannan confident of Crystal Palace survival

Barry Bannan insists that Crystal Palace have what it takes to stay in the Premier League this season.

Crystal Palace midfielder Barry Bannan has insisted that the team has what it takes to stay in the Premier League this season.

Bannan found the net on Saturday as Palace earned only their second win of the campaign with a 1-0 victory at Hull City.

Despite the Eagles' poor start to the season, the Scot is convinced that the side can climb out of the relegation zone in the coming weeks.

"Obviously we've been on a tough run of seven games without winning and sometimes [doubt] can creep in, but we've got a strong group of lads here and we've never doubted that we can stay in this league," Bannan told the club's official website.

"Now we've got a good run of games coming up against teams in and around us and if we can pick up points I'm sure we'll start to shoot up that table."

New manager Tony Pulis will take charge of Palace for the first time on Saturday when they face Norwich City at Carrow Road.
