Jason Puncheon has admitted that he is desperate to make history by keeping Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The Eagles, who face Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, have seen their previous four campaigns in the top division of English football end in relegation.
"Everybody is aware of the record of never staying in the league," the Palace forward told the Daily Star. "It is chasing the dream. You can be part of history if we keep them up.
"All the games between now and the end of the season are massive, especially against the teams that are close to us like Sunderland that we need to take points off.
"We've got 10 cup finals and this is just the first one of them."
Palace are two points above the relegation zone in 16th place.
