Crystal Palace are keen to open talks with Jonny Williams regarding a new contract, according to a report.
The midfielder, 20, signed a five-year contract in May last year, but will apparently be in line for a pay rise with the new deal.
The Mirror quotes a club source as saying that "protection" is the driving force behind the idea as Williams has attracted interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton.
"Jonny remains a highly sought-after player and the contract will give the club more protection," the source told the newspaper.
"He has progressed through the Academy and Palace have no intention of letting him leave unless it is a big offer."
Williams was part of the Palace squad that beat Aston Villa 1-0 on Boxing Day.
