Crystal Palace will reportedly resume their interest in Genoa midfielder Tomas Rincon at the start of 2017.
The Eagles were strongly linked with a move for the 28-year-old in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, but could not come to an agreement with Roncon's Italian club.
It is understood that Palace failed with a bid in the region of £5.9m, which was £2.5m short of Genoa's valuation.
According to calciomercato.it, the Premier League club are still interested in the versatile midfielder, although AC Milan and Inter Milan are both also monitoring developments with the Venezuela international.
Rincon joined Genoa from Hamburger SV in the summer of 2014.
