Derby County manager Nigel Clough has said that he is pleased with his team's performance in their 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Rams fell behind to a Leonardo Ulloa strike 17 minutes into the game at the Amex Stadium, but a brace by Chris Martin helped the Rams record their first victory of the new Championship season.
"It's very important for him to get a few goals as he is our main target man," PA quotes Clough as saying. "He did well while on loan and needs a home with us. Hopefully he'll stay with us a few years and help us achieve what we want to achieve.
"There was a bit of everything in our performance. The way we started pleased me the most and we controlled the game for long spells. We didn't deserve to go behind and once we had taken the lead we had some good situations ourselves.
"We believe we are as good as anyone in the league. We have got to get confidence through to our young side to help with the belief that we are as good as other teams."
Martin signed permanently from the Canaries this summer.
