The four nominees for January's Championship Player of the Month have been revealed as Mark Duffy, Chris Kirkland, Adam Le Fondre and David Nugent.
Doncaster Rovers winger Duffy terrorised many a defender with his forward surges and sealed the points against Charlton Athletic in the final game of the month.
Sheffield Wednesday have improved drastically under the direction of Stuart Gray and went unbeaten in January, with keeper Kirkland letting in just two goals.
A hat-trick is rare enough, but Reading frontman Le Fondre bagged two last month in the 7-1 and 5-1 victories over Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool.
League leaders Leicester City have now won nine league games in a row and top scorer Nugent found the net in three of those games, also setting up four goals.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
