Former England internationals set for FA Cup return at Wembley FC

A number of ex-England internationals including Ray Parlour and David Seaman will play for Wembley FC in the FA Cup this season.

A host of former England internationals will make a playing return to the FA Cup this weekend at non-league Wembley FC.

Ex-England stars including Ray Parlour, Martin Keown, Graham Le Saux and David Seaman have agreed to play for Wembley during their FA Cup run, managed by Euro 96 boss Terry Venables.

Combined Counties Premier Division side Wembley start their FA Cup campaign with an extra preliminary round tie against Langford FC, with the ex-pros hoping to help the amateur players.

Parlour said that he was more than happy to take part and raise awareness for grass roots football.

He told The Mirror: "To be able to play in the FA Cup again is an amazing opportunity and one I will relish on the pitch.

"It's been great working with Terry Venables and some of my ex-Arsenal colleagues again through the mentoring and coaching we've done at Wembley FC during pre-season.

"We'd like to think we're helping a group of talented footballers achieve their dreams of playing in the FA Cup and going as far as they possibly can, starting against Langford this weekend."

A documentary on the exploits of Wembley FC called Dream.On. The Journey of Wembley FC will be shown on ESPN on August 16.
