Roy Hodgson 'wants to extend England deal until 2018'

Roy Hodgson wants to extend his contract as England manager until the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to a report.

Roy Hodgson is reportedly keen on staying in charge of England until the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The former Liverpool coach's existing contract expires after the end of Euro 2016, but the 67-year-old is eager to remain in charge for a further two years, according to The Mirror.

It is thought that the FA is aware of Hodgson's intention to remain in the role until 2018 and the England boss is believed to have support from officials within the organisation to continue, along with captain Wayne Rooney.

However, a poor World Cup in Brazil, which saw England knocked out in the group stage of the tournament, has raised questions about his time in charge of the Three Lions.

Hodgson's England currently has a 100% record in their Euro 2016 qualifying group and look set to reach the finals in France next summer.
