England Under-21 striker Connor Wickham believes that his side have a good chance of progressing a long way in the European Championships in Israel.

England Under-21 international Connor Wickham is confident that his side can perform well at the European Championships in Israel.

The Sunderland striker struggled for playing time for his club throughout last season but scored three goals in four games in the build-up to the tournament for the Three Lions.

Wickham told the club's official website: "I think we've got a good squad again – we haven't conceded in the last nine or ten games so we'll go there and I think we will do really well.

"There's confidence because I don't think there is any doubt about the ability we've got in the squad."

Stuart Pearce's men begin their campaign against Italy on June 5.
