Martin Keown believes that England goalkeeper Joe Hart has to improve his distribution if his side are to keep possession effectively in games.
The Manchester City shot-stopper was impressive in the Three Lions' 2-2 draw with Brazil as he made vital saves throughout.
Keown wrote in his column in the Daily Mail: "It was interesting to see how often we passed the ball back to Joe Hart in the first half.
"I fear good teams will watch that and know that if they press England hard, then they will play the ball back and ultimately lose possession.
"We did it time and again and, even though Hart's goalkeeping was outstanding, his kicking has to be better."
The 26-year-old has made 31 appearances for England since making his debut in 2008.
