Roy Hodgson: 'England can win World Cup in Brazil'

Roy Hodgson says that England stand a good chance of winning the 2014 World Cup if the qualify.

Roy Hodgson has said that England can win the 2014 World Cup in Brazil if they qualify.

The England manager is currently on a trip to Brazil, assessing potential training bases.

Hodgson told BBC Sport: "If we got here we would believe in ourselves, we would think that we have a good chance.

"I can assure the England football fans there is nothing the players want more. They would have been more than happy to play a World Cup on the Galapagos Islands, let alone Brazil.

"They don't need motivation, they need to perform, and then we need that little bit of luck all teams need if they are going to get over the line."

England sit second in their group behind Montenegro after four of the 10 games of the qualification campaign.
