Ronaldo: 'England can win World Cup'

Ronaldo believes that England can win the World Cup but does not consider them among the favourites.

Brazilian legend Ronaldo has said that England can win next summer's World Cup in his country.

The former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker believes that ex-Three Lions coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is wrong to write off their chances in the South American nation.

"I think it's a bit of an exaggeration when [Eriksson] said England have no chance," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.

"I think the most traditional teams have a chance to win the World Cup, but I do believe that England is much below Brazil, Germany and Spain. However, it is an excellent team."

England have won the World Cup once - in 1966.
