Report: Javier Aguirre to leave Espanyol in summer

A report claims that Espanyol boss Javier Aquirre will depart the Spanish club at the end of the season to step into international management.

Espanyol boss Javier Aguirre will reportedly depart the Spanish club at the end of the season to step into international management once more.

The 55-year-old, who has previously managed Mexico, has been in charge of Espanyol since 2012.

According to AS, Qatar, Japan and Greece have all targeted the experienced boss with a view to a summer move, but Espanyol are still hopeful of convincing Aguirre to sign a new contract.

Aguirre took charge of Espanyol in November 2012, when the club were bottom of the La Liga table. However, the Mexican has led his side into European contention this season.
