David Moyes pays tribute to "tough" Blackpool

David Moyes hails Blackpool after beating the Championship outfit.

Everton boss David Moyes has paid tribute to Blackpool after their 2-0 triumph over the Championship club on Saturday.

Two goals in the opening ten minutes at Goodison Park proved to be enough to see the Toffees through and send the Seasiders crashing out of the competition. However, the Scot insists that the result wasn't secure until the final whistle.

"The game was never over," he said. "Blackpool had a great shot at the end where Tim Howard made a great save.

"They're tough, Blackpool. Obviously the early goal helped us a lot but they missed a penalty kick.

"We had to keep at it the whole game, we were never that comfortable."

Meanwhile, Everton are in tenth place in the Premier League.
