Bryan Oviedo pulls out of Costa Rica squad to stay with Everton

Bryan Oviedo pulls out of Costa Rica's squad for the upcoming international fixtures against Oman and South Korea to have a "routine procedure" with Everton.

Everton left-back Bryan Oviedo has withdrawn from Costa Rica's squad for the upcoming international fixtures against Oman and South Korea.

The 24-year-old will stay with the Toffees to have a "routine procedure to remove a small screw from his leg", the club tweeted this afternoon.

Oviedo made his return to Premier League action in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Manchester United after breaking his leg in January.

It was Everton's third Premier League defeat of the season and they lie just outside the bottom three after seven games.
