Sylvain Distin hails Everton style under Roberto Martinez

Sylvain Distin pays tribute to Roberto Martinez's influence on Everton's style of play after they moved into the Premier League top four.

Sylvain Distin has expressed his delight at Everton's style of play under Roberto Martinez since he took over in the summer.

The Spanish manager guided the side to a 2-1 win at Swansea City on Sunday that saw Everton climb to fourth in the Premier League table and continue their impressive start to the season.

"It's based on possession, a lot of passing, which starts from the back," Distin told reporters.

"Even last season we played a lot of good football but now it's just constant."

Everton host Sunderland on Boxing Day.
