Everton call a press conference for Wednesday afternoon amid speculation that Roberto Martinez will take charge of the club.

Everton have called a press conference for Wednesday afternoon amid speculation that Roberto Martinez will be named the new manager of the club.

The current Wigan Athletic boss has been heavily tipped to take charge at Goodison Park following David Moyes's departure to Manchester United.

Everton are now expected to make an official announcement at 4pm today after finalising a compensation package with the Latics.

Martinez joined Wigan in 2009 after a two-year spell with Swansea City.
