Duncan Ferguson given permanent coaching role at Everton

Duncan Ferguson becomes a full-time member of Everton's coaching staff.

Everton have announced that former player Duncan Ferguson has been given a permanent coaching role at the club.

The ex-Scotland international has been working with the Toffees' youth teams since 2011, but will become a full-time member of Roberto Martinez's backroom staff from Monday.

Ferguson joined Everton from Rangers in 1994, scoring 72 goals in 273 appearances for the Blues across two spells at Goodison Park.

He joined Newcastle United for £8m in 1998, before returning to Merseyside in a deal worth £3.75m less than two years later.

Ferguson will work alongside Everton assistant manager Graeme Jones, first-team development coach Dennis Lawrence and goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara in his new role.
