Ramiro Funes Mori: "I'm looking forward to testing myself"

New Everton centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori says that he is eager to test himself against the Premier League's top strikers after sealing a £9.5m deadline-day move.

Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori has said that he is relishing the prospect of testing himself against the very best strikers in the Premier League.

The Argentina international is currently away with his country for friendlies against Bolivia and Mexico after sealing a £9.5m move to Goodison Park from River Plate on transfer deadline day.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez said yesterday that the 24-year-old could make his debut against champions Chelsea after the international break, and Mori insists that he is ready for the challenge of Premier League football.

"For me, it is the best league in the world," he told Everton's official website. "Since I was a kid, I have been watching the league.
It is a very intense league, dynamic.

"The strikers are very strong, very skilful and obviously I will have to adapt to that but it shouldn't take too long.

"There are lots of very big players who have played in this league, very important players like Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, a lot of others. To follow their steps is fantastic and I am looking forward to testing myself against the attackers in the league."

Mori will compete with John Stones, Phil Jagielka, Matthew Pennington and Mason Holgate for a centre-back spot at Everton this season.
