Everton's Gethin Jones considering Australia switch

A report claims that Australia want to poach Everton defender Gethin Jones from under the nose of Wales.

Australia reportedly want to poach Everton youngster Gethin Jones from under the nose of Wales.

The 21-year-old, who came through the youth system at Goodison Park, was born in Perth, but has turned out for Wales since Under-17 level and currently represents their Under-21 outfit.

Having not yet made a senior appearance for Wales, Jones's international future is still up in the air and according to the Liverpool Echo, he has an offer from Football Federation Australia to switch national teams.

Jones has not yet made his first-team debut for Everton and spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two outfit Plymouth Argyle.
